The three kinds of construction photography
Most builders need all three over the life of a project. They are planned differently and priced differently.
- Progress photography. The same ground positions and aerial angles shot on a fixed schedule, usually monthly, so owners, lenders and your own team can compare month to month. Consistency matters more than drama here.
- Completed project photography. The portfolio shoot once the building is finished and staged: exteriors at golden hour and twilight, interiors lit properly, and the details your team is proud of. These images sell the next job for years.
- People and culture. Crews, superintendents and leadership on site. These feed your website, recruiting posts and proposals, and they are what makes a builder look like a team instead of a logo.

How a progress photo program works
A good progress program is boring on purpose. The value comes from repeating the same frames every visit.
- A fixed shot list. We set the ground positions and drone angles on the first visit and repeat them every month, so the set lines up like a time lapse.
- Aerials cleared in advance. Much of Dallas sits under DFW International and Love Field airspace, so drone flights need FAA authorization before we fly. We handle that, and we fly FAA Part 107 licensed with commercial drone insurance. More in our Dallas drone guide.
- Safety first on site. We follow your site orientation, PPE and escort rules, and schedule around pours, lifts and inspections.
- Organized delivery. Photos are delivered in dated folders by visit so anyone on the project can find March in ten seconds.

Completed project shoots that win bids
Timing is everything. We shoot once the site is clean and staged, schedule exteriors around sun position, and plan twilight frames when the building is lit. Interiors get proper lighting instead of whatever the ceiling fixtures give us. If an architect or developer on the project also needs images, a shared shoot usually costs everyone less than three separate photographers.
What construction photography costs in DFW
Completed project shoots are usually priced as a production day, and when photo and video are captured together they typically fall in our combined photo and video day range of about $2,800 to $5,500. Recurring progress photography is quoted as a monthly visit, often bundled with drone video in a content retainer that typically runs about $4,000 to $12,000 a month depending on scope. How often should construction progress photos be taken?
Monthly is the standard for most commercial projects. Fast schedules or key phases such as steel, enclosure and finishes can justify visits every two weeks.
Do you shoot aerial construction photos in Dallas?
Yes. Our drone work is flown by FAA Part 107 licensed pilots with commercial drone insurance, and we get airspace authorization before flights near DFW International and Love Field.
When is the best time to photograph a completed building?
After the site is clean and staged, with exteriors timed to good sun and twilight when the building is lit. We plan the shoot day around those windows.
Can you shoot photos and video on the same visit?
Yes. Photo and video with one crew on the same day is our default, which keeps the look consistent and usually costs less than booking two vendors.
Do you follow jobsite safety rules?
Yes. We complete your site orientation, wear the required PPE, follow escort rules and schedule around pours, lifts and inspections.
Do you work in Fort Worth and Collin County?
