Video production in Los Angeles for brands, hotels and events.
Hospitality photography from the Picture Perfect Video portfolio.
Picture Perfect Video is a video production and photography company for businesses in Las Vegas, Dallas-Fort Worth and Los Angeles. We are based in Las Vegas and travel to Los Angeles regularly, with the same crew and the same standard we bring to every market. This page covers what we film in LA, what it costs, the local rules that shape a shoot here, and how a project runs from the first call to delivery.
What we film in Los Angeles
One crew handles photo and video together, so a single shoot can feed your website, your ads and your social channels.
- Brand films. The film that sets the feeling of a business, for the homepage, the sales deck and paid social. See how we plan a brand film.
- Hotels and restaurants. Room and suite clips, dining and bar coverage, amenities and the stills library from the same setups. Our Los Angeles hospitality video guide covers this work in detail.
- Events. Conferences, launches and private events, covered on video and in photos, with short clips ready for social.
- Photo and video days. A planned day that captures a batch of content in one trip, which matters more in LA, where every day also carries travel.
- Drone. Aerial video by FAA-licensed drone pilots, where the airspace at your address allows it.
- Vertical social content. Short clips framed vertically at capture, so your social team has material that matches the website.
Our Los Angeles work includes hospitality work for Montage Beverly Hills. The same crew runs an ongoing monthly plan in Dallas covering The Drey Hotel, Meridian and the venues inside The Village Dallas. See the hospitality work →
What it costs, including travel
These are the same ranges listed on our pricing page. Los Angeles projects add travel, which we quote as its own line so you can see exactly what it costs.
| What you book | Price range |
|---|---|
| Brand film | $6,500 to $20,000 |
| Event coverage | $1,500 to $3,500 per day |
| Combined photo and video day | $2,800 to $5,500 |
| Monthly plan | $4,000 to $12,000 per month |
| Travel to Los Angeles | Mileage or flights and lodging, quoted into the project as a separate line |
Every video and photo set includes two rounds of changes, and each round comes back within 48 hours. For most properties the crew drives in with the full kit, so nothing depends on checked equipment. A two day shoot on one trip is usually better value than two single days a month apart.
Los Angeles rules that shape a shoot
- Permits depend on the city. Within the City of Los Angeles, filming that stays entirely on private property usually needs no FilmLA permit. A tripod on a sidewalk, a coned lane or reserved parking does. Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Malibu and Pasadena each run their own film office with their own rules.
- Certificates of insurance are routine. The property, and any city permit, will want a certificate of insurance naming them, filed before the shoot.
- Drone flights are checked per address. The Westside and the coast sit under LAX and Santa Monica airspace, and the valley under Van Nuys and Burbank. Paid drone work needs an FAA-licensed pilot and FAA permission to fly at that exact spot.
- The coast has a marine layer. Coastal exteriors in late spring are often grey in the morning, so they get scheduled for the afternoon.
- Traffic is part of the plan. Multi-location days are planned by geography. It is often cheaper to add a second day than to lose hours between locations.
We check the permit and airspace rules for your address on the first call, before the quote.

Los Angeles video production questions
Do you have a crew in Los Angeles?
We are based in Las Vegas and travel to Los Angeles regularly. Los Angeles is one of our three markets, alongside Las Vegas and Dallas-Fort Worth, and our LA work includes hospitality work for Montage Beverly Hills.
How much does video production cost in Los Angeles?
The same ranges on our pricing page apply: a brand film costs $6,500 to $20,000, event coverage $1,500 to $3,500 per day, a combined photo and video day $2,800 to $5,500, and a monthly plan $4,000 to $12,000 per month. Travel and lodging for Los Angeles are quoted into the project as their own line.
Do we need a film permit to shoot in Los Angeles?
It depends on the city and the shot. Within the City of Los Angeles, filming entirely on private property with nothing on the street usually does not need a FilmLA permit, but a tripod on a sidewalk or reserved parking does. Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Malibu and Pasadena each have their own film office. We check the rule for your address on the first call.
Can you fly a drone in Los Angeles?
Often, but it has to be checked for the exact address, because much of the Westside and the coast sits under LAX and Santa Monica airspace and the valley sits under Van Nuys and Burbank. Paid drone work needs an FAA-licensed drone pilot and FAA permission to fly at that spot.
